Road Closures and Detour Information
Van Buren County Road Commission Notice: The southern quadrant of the intersection at Red Arrow Highway and CR 652 (24th St. to the north/Main St. to the south) will have limited access in coming days for curbs to be fixed and lanes to be repaved due to the Consumers Energy gas line project. A Detour will be set to go around the construction from Red Arrow Highway to 23rd St. south, to 52nd Ave./French Ave. west, back to CR 652 and vice versa. Major Contracting is planning on mobilizing in this Thursday, 10/30/25, weather permitting and working Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday if needed. (October 30-31 & November 1-3). The schedule is dependent on weather and may push farther out into the week

Replacing Water Main on Concord Ave between Webster and the Concord Tower. The Village of Mattawan is replacing the existing watermain and repaving a small stretch of Concord Ave. Dates of work: Beginning September 30, 2025 through the end of project. Location: Concord Ave/PQ Ave is closed for through traffic between Webster and 3rd St. The Detour route will be 3rd St., P Ave./McGillen and Main St. Project Contact: Tom Anthony, tom@mattawanmi.com, 269-668-2300.

EMERGENCY SIRENS
The Mattawan Fire Department has emergency sirens throughout the district for notification of an emergency. For a Fire, the siren is up and down 5 times. For a tornado warning, it is a single non-ascending or descending tone for three minutes. Testing of the siren takes place each day at noon.
